The DKFL UCP 205 is a standard power transmission unit designed for 25mm industrial shafts. It integrates the P205 cast iron housing with the UC205 self-aligning insert. The outer surface of the bearing is precision-ground to a spherical shape, fitting perfectly into the concave housing seat. This intelligent geometry compensates for initial misalignment, chassis manufacturing tolerances, or shaft deflection under load by ±2° to ±3°, without inducing bending stress on the balls.

Product Detail
Technical Specifications & Engineering Review: DKFL UCP 205 Pillow Block Unit Industrial Pillow Block for 25mm Shafts | Solid Base Housing (P205) | UC205 Insert (100Cr6 Steel)
A complete, ready-to-mount pillow block unit engineered by DKFL Bearings, comprising a reinforced P205 cast-iron housing with a solid base (no cavities) and a self-aligning UC205 deep groove ball bearing. Features a wide inner ring, 120-degree locking set screws, and a brass grease fitting for continuous lubrication in power transmission lines and conveyors.
Engineering Analysis: The Solid Base Advantage
The DKFL UCP 205 is a standard power transmission unit designed for 25mm industrial shafts. It integrates the P205 cast iron housing with the UC205 self-aligning insert. The outer surface of the bearing is precision-ground to a spherical shape, fitting perfectly into the concave housing seat. This intelligent geometry compensates for initial misalignment, chassis manufacturing tolerances, or shaft deflection under load by ±2° to ±3°, without inducing bending stress on the balls.
The primary structural advantage of DKFL housings over conventional market alternatives is the Solid Base technology. Hollow base designs are prone to cracking and foundation failure when subjected to tightening torque or dynamic vibration. DKFL’s solid, cast-iron design ensures superior rigidity, harmonic vibration damping, and uniform load distribution across the machine chassis.
Designation Breakdown
Refers to the horizontal cast-iron housing with two elongated bolt holes for direct mounting onto flat industrial surfaces.
Indicates a deep groove ball bearing with a wide inner ring and dual locking set screws.
Standard metric bearing shaft diameter calculation
NBR elastomer seal combined with a centrifugal metal ring that repels dust, water, and debris during rotation.
Internal lubrication channel directing grease from the threaded nipple to the outer ring of the bearing for efficient maintenance.
Technical Data Table
| Parameter | Value | Performance Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Shaft Bore (d) | 25 mm | Smooth fit with h7 sliding tolerance. |
| Center Height (H) | 36.5 mm | Standard alignment for motors & gearboxes (JIS B 1559). |
| Housing Length (L) | 139.7 mm | Stable support; reduces tensile stress on chassis bolts. |
| Bolt Hole Spacing (J) | 105 mm | Allows for axial adjustment during installation. |
| Inner Ring Width (B1) | 34 mm | Wide engagement area to prevent wobbling under shock loads. |
| Housing Material | Grey Cast Iron HT200 | Exceptional mechanical vibration damping (Damping properties). |
| Bearing Metallurgy | 100Cr6 Chrome Steel | Heat-treated to 60-62 HRC for fatigue resistance. |
| Dynamic Load (Cr) | 14.0 kN | Suitable for heavy continuous radial conveyor loads. |
| Set Screw Size | M10 x 1.0 (Grade 12.9) | Secure clamping to prevent slippage. |
DKFL Competitive Engineering Advantages
1. Solid Base Construction
Unlike hollow-based counterparts, DKFL housings are fully cast and machined from solid iron, preventing stress concentration, debris accumulation, and sudden base failure.
2. Precision Self-Alignment
The spherical outer bearing ring allows for smooth angular adjustments within the housing, effectively absorbing stresses from initial misalignment.
3. Compound Sealing
Nitrile rubber combined with a rotary metal flinger throws off grit, abrasive dust, and moisture via centrifugal force, keeping the grease clean.
Critical Installation Warnings
Step 1: Slide the unit onto the shaft and loosely tighten the base bolts to the chassis.
Step 2: Fully torque the base bolts.
Step 3 (Final): Tighten the two set screws onto the shaft. Note: If you lock the set screws before securing the base to the chassis, you will impose internal preload, leading to overheating and premature seizure.
Never use a steel hammer directly on the bearing housing or races. This will cause edge chipping and damage the flinger seals. Use a soft-faced mallet or press fit only.
