Self-Alignment Capability: The spherical interface between the housing and the insert allows the unit to compensate for static and dynamic angular misalignment (up to ±2°). Critical Installation Protocols & Warnings
Step 1: Mount the bearing on a clean, polished shaft. Tighten base bolts loosely to the foundation to allow the unit to self-align.
Step 2: Securely tighten the housing base bolts to the torque specifications.
Step 3 (Final): Tighten the two set screws on the inner ring alternately and evenly.
Critical Warning: Never tighten the set screws before securing the housing base. Doing so induces axial stress on the rings, which often leads to immediate overheating and bearing seizure.
Avoid striking the cast housing or bearing rings directly with steel hammers. Direct impacts can fracture the housing, deform the seal, or create micro-cracks in the 100Cr6 steel race. Always use a rubber/soft-face mallet or a proper sleeve tool.
- Tolerance & Surface Prep: Recommended shaft tolerance is h7 or js7. Ensure the mounting foundation is perfectly flat to prevent inducing bending moments into the housing feet.
- Lubrication Management: The unit is factory-lubricated. During maintenance, inject fresh grease sparingly (1-2 pumps only). Over-greasing increases operating temperatures and can blow out the seal lips.
